Pinch valve classification
According to the structure of the valve body, it can be divided into a closed pinch valve (the valve body is a closed structure, which is suitable for complex external environment and protects the internal hose) and a bare pinch valve (the valve body is a frame structure, and the hose is exposed, which is easy to observe and maintain).

According to the opening and closing mechanism, it can be divided into torque type pipe pinch valve and thrust type pipe pinch valve.

According to the driving method, it can be divided into manual pipe pinch valve, pneumatic pipe pinch valve, electric pipe pinch valve, hydraulic pipe pinch valve and so on.

Pinch valve hose

The pinch valve hose is the only part in the valve that is in contact with the medium, and is the most important part in any pinch valve, which determines the quality of the pinch valve.

How the pinch valve works

Pipe pinch valve is also known as pinch valve, hose valve, air bag valve and hoop break valve in China. , as shown in the figure below.

Pinch Valve Features

1. The all-through elastic hose has no gaps and dead ends, which avoids flocculation and wear in the hose.
2. When fully closed, it ensures two-way zero leakage closure (even if there are residual particles), and the internal safety design of the seal without maintenance.
3. The hose and the piping system are self-contained, and can be self-cleaning every time the opening and closing operation is performed, without blocking and no sludge.
4. According to different working conditions, rubber compound pipes with different properties can be used, which are suitable for complex working conditions (high wear, strong corrosion, certain high temperature, etc.).
5. The hose is the only part in contact with the medium, and does not require an expensive alloy valve body; and the replacement of the hose is convenient and quick. Replacing the hose once is equivalent to replacing a new valve, which is cost-effective and cost-saving.
6. A variety of driving methods, which can be manually on-site or remote, to achieve centralized control.
7. It can be used as a regulating valve to adjust the flow, and the intelligent regulating type can also realize various functions such as power-off protection on/off.
8. It is suitable for a wide range of diameters, DN20-DN1500, and is suitable for a wide range of temperatures, -40°C to +130°C.

Advantages of Pinch Valves over Traditional Metal Valves

Pinch valves are full bore, with no gaps, fasteners or seats to affect valve operation. As shown in the diagram above, when abrasive particles strike a synthetic rubber surface, the impact is absorbed and then transmitted back to the particle. The synthetic rubber sleeve with very good elasticity and toughness wears much faster than the metal valve.

The applications of pinch valves in the mining and metallurgy industry include tailings, flotation cells, centrifuge control, lime feeding, coal washing, mine filling, and more.
The applications of pinch valves in the chemical industry include slurries/chemicals, industrial processing, strong acid-base media, powders, titanium dioxide, and more.
